A Review of the 66th Vienna Opera Ball

Once again this year, Juwelier Heldwein made the ballroom of the 66th Vienna Opera Ball sparkle a little more. In addition to the young gentlemen’s committee, who were provided with cufflinks, Heldwein was also able to adorn a number of well-known personalities.

Glitz and Glamor at Austria’s Most Important Ball

The Opera Ball is one of the most important balls both nationally and internationally. Susanne Athanasiadis, member of the Expert Committee, is jointly responsible for the organization of the ball. Pomellato jewels from the “Brera” collection with white and brown diamonds in 18kt. rose gold rounded off Ms. Athanasiadis’ Opera Ball look this year.

The first solo dancer of the Vienna State Ballet, Liudmila Konovalova, shone at the Vienna Opera Ball in a green gown by one of this year’s Couture Salon designers, Alexandra Gogolok-Nagl. The gown was completed with pieces of jewelry from our in-house atelier. In addition to opulent diamond-tsavorite earrings with a matching bracelet, the first solo dancer wore rings from the “1902” collection.

The 66th Vienna Opera Ball was opened by a female duet for the first time. Alongside Elina Garanca, the award-winning Spanish soprano Serena Sáenz sang “Barcarolle” from The Tales of Hoffmann. She wore a sparkling Atelier Heldwein necklace, paired with a diamond ring and matching stud earrings. The look was completed with a pink sapphire ring.

Ekaterina Mucha, editor-in-chief and lawyer, opted for a purple gown by designer Erika Suess and jewelry by Atelier Heldwein this year. To match the appliqués on the dress, Ms. Mucha wore a diamond flower necklace, a marquise diamond ring and three-row diamond earrings.

Guests who needed a styling freshen-up during the Opera Ball were in good hands at the “Beauty to go” salon run by make-up artist Alma Milcic. Ms. Milcic wore elaborately crafted Atelier Heldwein star ear clips with moonstones and diamonds with her black gown.
